Mark Your Calendars: Public Event on December 4th!
Mark your calendars! We're getting together at the museum on Saturday, December 4th from 10am-2pm for an outdoor historic mining equipment demonstration and public event. FREE to the public and all are welcome! Covid guidelines in place. We hope to see you there!
Location
The museum is located at 1502 W. Washington St., Phoenix, AZ 85007 on the Capitol Mall. The event will be held mainly on the outdoor grounds on the west and south sides of the building. Enter through the large gate adjacent to the parking lot. Link to Google Map HERE.
Schedule
10am: Gates open (use large gate in NW corner of building near parking lot), indoor mineral displays available for viewing until 2pm.
10:30am: First mining equipment and stamp mill demonstration
12:30pm: Second mining equipment and stamp mill demonstration
2:00pm: End of event
Parking
Free parking is available in the ADOA lot directly north of the building. Entrance to the lot is off 15th Ave. north of Washington Street.
Restrooms
The first floor indoor restrooms will be available for guests. Follow the signs or ask a volunteer for help.
ADA Accessibility
The outdoor mining equipment area is ADA-accessible. The path is mainly decomposed granite and the building is accessible by ramp. If anyone needs assistance with ADA accessibility, please let a volunteer or staff member know.
Other Important Info
This event will be held mainly OUTDOORS, so please be prepared for the sun and weather.
Indoor access to the museum is restricted to marked pathways only. We are a work in progress and we believe visitors should be able to see that. Ask a Monday Crew volunteer or museum staff member if you have any questions.
