Inventorying

Volunteer Bill has worked diligently through the summer sorting and inventorying material.

Like most other museums and cultural organizations, our museum has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Safety has been our priority. In March, we postponed our public stamp mill event, and our fall event is postponed as well. All Monday Crew workdays have been suspended, and we cancelled our outreach opportunities with partner organizations. Despite the changes in plans, we have still been making progress with the reorganization of the mineral collection, which moved back into the building last fall. While the curator is on parental leave, volunteer Bill has been working independently (socially distanced!) to sort, label and safely store material. Our volunteers are important to us, and we look forward to when we can get the full Monday Crew back together at the museum. We will be following University policy about future volunteer opportunities and public events, and will keep you updated here on the website.

Cabinet Storage

The mineral flats that once lined these shelves are now in permanent cabinet storage!
