Welcome new museum Executive Director Marta Bones.

The museum welcomes our new Executive Director, Marta Bones! We are very excited to have her on the team. Below is an official announcement from Interim Senior VP of Research and Innovation Elliott Cheu.

Dear Friends,

I am pleased to announce that Marta Bones has joined the Office of Research, Innovation & Impact (RII) as the new Executive Director of the Arizona Mining, Mineral and Natural Resources Education Museum (AMMNRE). Marta brings with her a wealth of experience in museum leadership and nonprofit management, making her an excellent fit to lead us into an exciting new chapter.

Marta comes to us with seventeen years of experience in the museum world, having served as the executive director of the Pittock Mansion in Portland, Oregon, where she led significant growth and development initiatives. Her expertise in strategic planning, fundraising, and enhancing visitor experience will be invaluable as we continue to grow and evolve.

Most recently, Marta served as the director of development for the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation in Scottsdale, where she played a key role in expanding partnerships and securing support for operations and programs.

Marta’s roots in Arizona and her passion for its natural wonders make her uniquely qualified to lead the AMMNRE Museum. We are thrilled to welcome her to the RII community and look forward to working together to further the museum’s mission of education and conservation.

Warm Regards,

Elliott Cheu
